Dolina Sanki

Sanka Valley

Od prawej droga polna, po lewe od niej łąki. W oddali drzewa i za nimi lasy. Niebo pogodne z białymi chmurami.

Mników Tourist region: Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska

The almost 8-km-long valley is the longest in the Tenczyński Ridge, a delightful gorge carved into the limestone rocks by the Sanka River. The limestone rocks, several metres high, climb among the greenery of the forests and are a delightful beauty in every season.
In places, the valley is characterised by wide bottom and gentle slopes, which has allowed it to be partially settled. The left slope of the valley is almost entirely forested, and the right-side slope is slightly less so. In places, weathered limestone rocks emerge. The valley is full of interesting natural attractions and landscapes, among which it is worth noting, for example, the Na Łopiankach Cave or the Półrzeczki Gorge, covered with beechwood. Most interesting, however, is the final section of the gorge-like valley – the Mnikowska Valley Reserve, which is protected as a nature reserve. The focal point is a clearing with a rock with Our Lady of the Rocks, where the rocks form a natural altar decorated with an image. It is well worth climbing up to see the beautiful panorama and take a look at the Nad Matką Boską Cave. Also of interest to naturalists and geologists in the area will be the Zimny Dół Nature Reserve, which hides many secrets and impresses with its spectacular landscape. The Sanka Valley is also an ideal place for cycling trips.
