This is the most beautiful cycle route in the Małopolska Region, leading via 7 mountain ranges, around 3 large lakes and through the gates of 7 castles. In the south, it connects with the Cycling Route Around the Tatras, between Stary Sącz and Ostrów it shares the route with EuroVelo11/VeloNatura and in Wietrzychowice, where the Dunajec flows into the Vistula, it meets the Vistula Cycle Route.

Uncompleted sections - under construction or planned:

•    Krościenko-Tylmanowa (4,5 km)
•    Tylmanowa-Zabrzeż (2,5 km)
•    Wielogłowy-Czchów (30 km)
•    Wróblowice-Ostrów (25 km)

The proposed diversion is routed on normal roads with possible heavy traffic and elevations.

Route notes:
The route includes several short but steep climbs (Falsztyn, Brzyna, Dąbrowa, Rożnów, Habalina) and a few gravel and dirt sections: in Biały Dunajec (800 m), the Slovak part of the Pienińska Route through the Dunajec Gorge (10 km), the Habalina climb (200 m), and the dirt road to the bridge in Zgłobice (200 m). 

All obstructions are systematically indicated on the map below.

Bicycle Service Points - MOR

MPR are stopping points where you can rest, take shelter from rain or wind, use seasonal portable toilets, and carry out minor bike repairs with stationary tool kits. List of MPRs along the VeloDunajec (all locations are presented on maps): Poronin ; Szaflary ; Nowy Targ ; Harklowa ; Sromowce Niżne ; Krościenko nad Dunajcem ; Tylmanowa ; Jazowsko ; Nowy Sącz ; Zakliczyn ; Glów.
