Smocza Jama Cave, Kościeliska Valley

The Dragon Cave has been known to the highlanders for ages. It is located in the Kraków Gorge – a side branch of the Kościeliska Valley.
The cave is a 37 m long steep tunnel, piercing through the gorge wall. The entrance opening is 17 m above its bottom, the exit opening is 12 m higher. The bottom of the cave is covered with humus debris, in winter it is completely frozen, it has a typical dynamic microclimate with constant air flow.
