Between July 21th-28th 2019 in Nowy Sącz the 27th - International Festival of Children’s Folk Ensembles will be held. FESTIVAL OF THE CHILDREN OF MOUNTAINS is a place of common play, during which children have the opportunity to learn about the richness of folk culture and traditions of various parts of the world, learn tolerance and respect for cultural, religious and traditional differences of various nations.

The participants of FESTIVAL OF THE CHILDREN OF MOUNTAINS are Polish and foreign folklore groups representing various ethnic groups of Podkarpackie regions and mountain regions of all continents. During the Festival, the ensembles present the culture of their own region - in an authentic, traditional form - through dance, singing and games.

The festival will begin with a holy mass in the Basilica of St. Margaret in Nowy Sącz on Sunday, July 21. The following days - from Monday to Saturday - are national days, in turn: Day of the Hungarians and Lachs, Belarusians and Łącko Highlanders, Albanians and Lachs, Lan Yu Thais and Podhale Highlanders, Catalans and Żywiec Highlanders, Kalmyks, Slovenes and Babia Góra Highlanders. In these days, during the main concert, the ensembles will invite the audience to participate in a joint game and will have the opportunity to present the culture of their country and region in various forms of off-stage activities (national cuisines, exhibitions, fairs, street presentations, etc.) of their choice. The final concert, during which all the bands will perform in a joint stage programme, will be held on July 28 at 7:00 p.m. in the MOSiR auditorium.

The Festival also offers accompanying events, including a photography exhibition, a folk art fair or workshops for instructors of children's regional ensembles.

Detailed programme available on the organizer's website.
